It has bothered me for several weeks on my new Mac. Because of this, you will be prompted to enter a keychain password each time an application requires authentication that your keychain would normally provide. If you change your account's password using your Mac OS X Install disc (or if your network-based account password is changed due to a network admin forcing a password change), your default keychain password (which uses the same initial password as your user account) does not change. This is needed because, as Apple explains it: Re-enter the newer password in the Verify field, then click OK.In the New Password field, type the password that matches your current account password.If you entered the correct password, a new window appears enter the original password again in the Current Password field.Type the former password of the account that you are currently logged in to, then click OK.From the Edit menu, choose Change Password for Keychain "login.".If that is the case, for your default keychain to be unlocked automatically when logged in, you'll have to Synchronize your Keychain Access and login passwords. It could be, too, that you've changed your account password without using the Accounts Preferences pane. If any problems were found, select Repair and click Start again.Choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid.Locate the Keychain Access application, under /Applications/Utilities.Once reinstalled, sign into your account in the settings.It sounds as an issue either with the Keychain App. If that’s the case, you can delete the app from the device and re-install it. Verify data is synced by signing in to the Server Dashboard ( ) in a web browser. The last solution only works if you are certain that your data has been synced to Day One Sync and you have a copy of the Encryption Key.When the numberpad comes up, tap the Touch ID/Face ID icon in the bottom left corner.Įnter your fingerprint or use Face ID.
Go to Day One > Settings > Passcode & Biometrics If you have Touch ID/Face ID or an Android fingerprint enabled for Day One but can’t remember the passcode, here are the steps to remove the passcode: Maybe spend a while guessing possible combinations. The easiest solution is to try and remember the passcode. There are 3 possible options to reset the app-locking passcode on iOS.
*Keychain Access can be found by searching Spotlight or going to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access. Return to Day One to open it without your previously-set password. Select Delete “Day One App Locking Password”. The app-locking password for Day One on Mac is securely stored in the Keychain Access app.Ĭlick the section for “Login” in the left panel.Ĭontrol-click (or right-click) Day One App Locking Password to reveal a contextual menu. It can be a different password for each device.
Keep in mind, this password does not sync between devices. Access to Day One can be protected with an app-locking password.
